If you are just looking

No account, no login, and no advertising trackers. We run our own analytics on our own servers (Rybbit, at track.brindleford.co.uk) to see which pages are used. It is not shared with anybody and it does not follow you around other websites.

If you write a review

• Your name and job title — published with the review.
• Your email address — never published. We keep it because if the company later disputes your review we have to be able to come back to you, and because the law expects a site that publishes what you wrote to be able to reach you about it.
• A one-way fingerprint of your connection — not your IP address itself, but a salted hash of it, which cannot be turned back into an address. It exists to catch companies reviewing themselves and rivals attacking each other, and it is deleted automatically after six months.

If we ask you for a document

Sometimes we ask for an invoice or a quote showing that a company worked for you. When we do:

• Black out anything financial — we do not want it.
• One person looks at it and records a yes or a no.
• It is never published and never shown to the company.
• It is deleted within 30 days at the very outside, and within a week of the decision. We keep the fact that proof was supplied; we do not keep the proof.

If you run a listed company

Your listing details and the credentials you submit are business information, and most of it is published — that is the point of being listed. The account email and password are not.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. One caveat worth stating plainly: asking us to delete your reviewer details does not automatically remove a published review, because a review is a statement made to the public and the company it concerns has an interest in it too. We will discuss it with you rather than pretend the question is simple.
